In this class, we'll dive into the world of Bible study. We'll be learning a method for adding inserts (maps, charts, genealogies and study notes) to any sized Bible.
Have you ever felt like you wanted to buy a Study Bible which included maps, charts, genealogies and study notes but felt the price of a Bible like that was too much and settled for going without? Would you like to feel more ready to give someone a Bible study when those spur of the moment questions come from family, friends, and neighbors? Have you ever been interested in creating a color coding system but felt overwhelmed by the various methods? In this class, we'll dive into the world of Bible study. We'll be learning a method for adding inserts (maps, charts, genealogies and study notes) to any sized Bible so that it looks like one of those expensive Bibles you see online. In addition, we'll be seeing how this same method can be used to create a "Prayer Bible War Binder" and also a small travel sized Bible for evangelism - ready to answer typical questions which might come up in conversation. Along the way, we'll be exploring chain referencing, methods for color coding and tracking the symbols of the Bible which can help to gain a deeper understanding of scripture.
Kristina Demers
Kristina Demers has been a firm believer in God since 1996 but had always struggled with the fact that the Bible - the theology as it was being taught to her - did not make sense. Over the years, she would ask various pastors questions but was never satisfied with the answers. In 2019, through a series of cooking classes at the Ark in Lewiston, she met some Seventh Day Adventists and finally asked Pastor Tony Cuffori the question which had been bugging her for years: "Is keeping the Sabbath legalism"? That night he sat down and gave her a Bible study that finally made sense. She excitedly called her husband Marc and they both started receiving Bible studies. They, along with their two daughters, Sarahjane and Eliza, started attending services in Lewiston and Marc and Kristina were baptized in August of that year. They have since moved to Brunswick and attend the Topsham church where they have enjoyed diving into scriptures with a new family of believers.
