This Year the Women’s Ministry retreat explored the theme “Sitting at the Feet of Jesus” from a unique perspective. Felecia Lee, Women’s Ministry Director for the conference, shared that encountering Jesus and His holiness can be a profoundly transformative experience. She drew parallels to Isaiah, Ezekiel, Moses, and others who faced God’s glory—an encounter that unravels us, yet ultimately makes us whole.
Jackie Howard led an in-depth discussion on setting boundaries to nurture healthy relationships, while Velda Sandy and Christine Penney further explored how being with Jesus brings healing to our souls.
Some attendees traveled from Canada for the retreat and had special reunions with friends. The women noted how their understanding of encountering God’s holiness had shifted. One participant expressed her desire to approach God’s presence with renewed intentionality.
During a special segment, we honored the memory of Dale Gaudreau, from the Woodstock Church, whose life had touched many. Ladies spent Sabbath afternoon exploring nature on hikes or at the waterfront. After Sabbath, many enjoyed being pampered with massages or hand wax treatments. The evening movie highlighted the story of Jo Yirrell, a British mother who lost her son to malaria and joined the fight against the deadly disease.
Over one hundred women along with team members forged connections, savored delicious meals, and shared moving testimonies about the retreat’s impact on their lives. By God’s grace, these women will continue to savor the joy of sitting at the feet of Jesus.
