There is much to be said about the incredible youth in our conference. These kids are passionate, energizing and spirit-filled Christians. My husband and I, along with Eliana Tardiff, have been blessed to be the youth leaders at the Freeport Church. We have had countless weekly youth groups and have enjoyed spending time with these amazing souls!   Once or (when convinced) twice a year, we hold a regional Lock-In where we get to stay up all night and laugh, play games and worship together (shout out to our committed chaperones, without which we could not make these events happen).

The last Lock-In was ‘Cinco de Mayo’ themed, we had a pinata party and tacos for dinner! We typically host contests with prizes donated by local businesses, and we all enjoy the 2-am talent show where our tired teens get to showcase their talents. My favorite part of these evenings, hands down, is standing in awe as a multitude of teenagers wrap arm in arm and lift their voices to the Lord. In the middle of the night, when most kids their age are sleeping or up late playing video games, these kids opt to stay awake and stand in unity to praise our Father in Heaven.
